Inter are looking to bolster their defence in January but are not too keen on the idea of picking up Villarreal’s Juan Foyth, despite his agent’s recent comments.

The Nerazzurri have looked almost flawless in Serie A this term as they look to pick up the Scudetto for the first time under Simone Inzaghi, but one element of the squad has proven disappointing – Juan Cuadrado.

The former Juventus wing back has hardly featured this campaign, seeing just 261 minutes of action across nine matches, struggling with a persistent Achilles tendon injury. As such, Inter are planning to intervene to pick up a new reinforcement in January.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Inter had identified Foyth as a possible option for January but are not currently focusing on the Villarreal defender, instead paying more attention to Lille’s Tiago Djalo and other key targets.

The 25-year-old’s agent Claudio Curti recently told SportItalia that his client ‘would be well-suited to playing in teams like Juventus or even Inter’.

Foyth has also attracted attention from other clubs across Europe, with Barcelona in particular keeping tabs on his work at Villarreal, where he has a €50m release clause.
