Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte’s long-term future at the club has been a constant topic of discussion over the last few months.

The 53-year-old has a contract with the Premier League club until the end of the season and Tottenham have not managed to agree on extension with them yet. Conte has done an exceptional job since coming in and he has improved the side significantly.

It’s natural that the fans want him to stay for the long haul and it remains to be seen whether the two parties can come to an agreement soon.

Meanwhile, Conte has been linked with a return to his former club Juventus at the end of the season.

However, journalist Alasdair Gold from Football London has now come up with a positive update regarding the Italian manager’s future at the club.

Gold has revealed on his YouTube channel that Conte is well settled at the club and he is relaxed about his future. Furthermore, he has claimed that Tottenham have an option to extend the Italian’s contract by another year because of the clause in his contract.

He said: “Digging around, I’ve got confirmation today that it’s Tottenham that hold this option. So Tottenham are the ones who can decide to extend, and they can do so whenever they choose to do it before the end of the contract.

“So that gives Conte a little bit more protection if the side like let’s say Juventus do come in, they’d have to pay a lot more money. But from what I understand, Conte seems to be quite happy at the moment. He seems to be quite settled.”

The development will certainly come as a boost to the club’s fans who can now relax knowing that the Italian is unlikely to leave at the end of the season.

Even if Tottenham fail to convince the Italian to sign a long-term contract with them, they can always exercise the option to extend his deal for another season at the very least.
