Bryce Duke scored in the 27th minute to propel host CF Montreal to a 1-0 victory over Nashville SC on Wednesday night.

Sunusi Ibrahim and Mason Toye each notched an assist for CF Montreal (8-9-1, 25 points), who returned from a one-week bye to improve to 7-1-0 at home this season. They also avenged a 2-0 setback to Nashville SC on March 11 and posted their first win in seven tries against the Tennessee-based club (1-4-2).

Jonathan Sirois made two saves to record his seventh shutout of the season and second in a row. He turned aside four shots in CF Montreal's 4-0 victory over Minnesota United on June 10.

Joe Willis finished with five saves for Nashville SC (10-4-5, 35 points), who saw their club-record unbeaten streak halted at 10 matches (7-0-3).

Ibrahim gained position on Nashville SC midfielder Jan Gregus and advanced deep into the box before sending a slick feed to the top of the box. Duke stepped up and unleashed a right-footed shot that beat a diving Willis to open the scoring in the 27th minute. Duke's goal was his second of the season and first since April 29.

Ariel Lassiter's bid to double the advantage six minutes later was denied by Willis.

Nashville SC's Taylor Washington and Jacob Shaffelburg nearly forged a tie in the 47th minute, however both of their attempts sailed just over the crossbar.

CF Montreal's Mathieu Choiniere made a sliding block to deny a point-blank opportunity from Washington following a cross from Hany Mukhtar in the 50th minute.

CF Montreal's Gabriel Corbo was shown a yellow card for a bad foul in the 13th minute, and teammate Victor Wanyama received the same fate seven minutes later.
