Barcelona have known for some time they would face competition if they tried to sign Martin Zubimendi, and with the door open to a move this summer, the number of competitors is on the rise. Real Sociedad will also require his €60m release clause to be paid, which rules out any move from the Blaugrana for him as things stand.

Matteo Moretto confirmed today that Zubimendi would consider a move this summer, with ‘Premier League sides’ and Bayern Munich interested in the 25-year-old pivot. Now MD are reporting that Arsenal, who have been linked to Zubimendi for the past 12 months too, and Juventus have already offered him an exit route. It is the first time La Vecchia Signora have been linked to him.

Zubimendi has been one of the finest midfielders in La Liga for some time, and was instrumental in La Real’s Champions League campaign. He remains happy at the Reale Arena, but increasingly it looks as if he will at least be given a decision to make this summer. Barcelona Sporting Director Deco met with his agent Inaki Ibanez this week, but no progress beyond a sounding out of his situation was made.
