Lautaro Martinez had a difficult night in the Coppa Italia against Bologna, as he saw a penalty saved and then the Inter captain limped off with a thigh problem.

The Capocannoniere had the opportunity to seal this Round of 16 after 64 minutes after a Tommaso Corazza handling offence, but saw his spot-kick parried by Federico Ravaglia.

The fixture went to extra time and Carlos Augusto opened the scoring with a header from Federico Dimarco’s corner.

However, Lautaro Martinez was already receiving treatment at the top of his left thigh during the preparation for extra time.

He then started visibly limping and when he was substituted by Henrikh Mkhitaryan, was clutching the very top of his left thigh where it meets the groin.

Medical staff strapped up his thigh as he got to the bench and the Argentina international covered his head in a blanket, perhaps to keep the cameras away from seeking out his facial expression.

Inter will play Lecce in Serie A on Saturday evening, then visit Genoa on December 29.
