Lazio are open to picking up a new midfielder in the coming winter transfer window and have started considering a move for Empoli’s Jacopo Fazzini.

The Biancocelesti recently lost star midfielder Luis Alberto to a frustrating injury that could keep him sidelined for over a month, prompting the club to start looking around for possible reinforcements ahead of the January transfer window.

Lazio contacted Udinese to sound out a move for Lazar Samardzic, but his €25 million price tag and the serious interest of Napoli made it clear that a deal would be almost impossible for next month, pushing them to look around for alternatives.

As reported by Alfredo Pedulla, Lazio are now seriously weighing up a move for Empoli talent Fazzini next month, reigniting their interest following the club’s considerations in the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old Italian, who is contracted to the Tuscan side until June 2027, has scored one goal and provided one assist across 15 Serie A matches this term.
