Lazio have reportedly entered the race to sign outgoing Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.

The Biancocelesti are preparing for the possible sale of Luis Alberto this summer and one player they’ve lined up to replace the Spaniard is Hellas Verona talent Ivan Ilic. Lazio have been keeping an eye out for possible alternatives, and now they’ve added Lo Celso to their list of targets.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio have joined Villarreal and Fiorentina in the race to sign Lo Celso, who is leaving Tottenham on a loan deal with a buy option attached this month.

Maurizio Sarri has given the green light for a deal but everything still depends on the future of Luis Alberto. The sale of the Spaniard would allow Lazio to move forward on the transfer market, but keeping the player means a deal will not happen.

The Roman club would also have to decide whether to focus on Ilic or switch attention to Lo Celso. An agreement in principle has already been reached with Hellas Verona president Maurizio Setti and he’s willing to wait for another week or so before taking the player off the market.
