Luis Alberto has reportedly informed Lazio of a lucrative offer from Qatar that he’s keen to accept in the summer.

The 31-year-old Spaniard surprised the Biancocelesti environment last month when he publicly confirmed his intentions to leave the club in the summer, suggesting that he wanted to leave on a free transfer. Claudio Lotito challenged that idea, wanting a buying club to pay up for his signature.

In the meantime, Luis Alberto has continued to perform well for Lazio over the last few weeks, scoring once and providing two assists in his last four league appearances. He was not included in the squad for the Serie A clash against Empoli.

As reported by TMW, Luis Alberto has confirmed Lazio that he’s been offered a lucrative contract from an unnamed Qatari club, worth around €8 million net per season, a huge raise compared to his current deal in Rome.

Unless he receives a convincing offer from Spain, he’s likely to accept the proposal, where he’ll close out his career. It’s still unclear how much Lazio would be able to earn from his sale to the Qatari side.
