Manchester United fans are understandably worried after one of their best midfielders was pictured on crutches after their FA Cup win.

The Red Devils took one step closer to Wembley after they beat Reading 3-1 in the FA Cup fourth-round tie on Saturday night.

Erik Ten Hag’s men have continued their fine form shown since returning after the World Cup but their progress could be stunted after Christian Eriksen was injured during the game.

The Danish playmaker was on the receiving end of a brutal Andy Carroll tackle, which he got sent off for, and was immediately subbed off the pitch for treatment.

A video emerged after full-time of Eriksen on crutches which have fans deeply concerned.

Speaking after the game, Ten Hag admitted that they will not know the seriousness of the injury until Monday.

‘It’s always difficult to say in this moment so short after the game has finished.’ he said.

‘But it’s an ankle [injury]. We have to see what is the diagnosis, so it costs us a minimum of 24 hours before we know that and then I can say more.’
