Manchester United reportedly make decision about Tottenham's Harry Kane

Striker Harry Kane apparently lost a potential landing spot if he wishes to leave Tottenham Hotspur for an English Premier League rival this summer. 

Sky Sports News reported Monday that "it is increasingly unlikely Manchester United will make a move for" Kane due to the fact that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy doesn't want to sell the England captain to a Premier League side. 

Kane's contract with Tottenham expires after next season, and the three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner has repeatedly been linked with United after his club finished eighth in the league table and failed to qualify for the 2023-24 UEFA Champions League tournament. 

United earned Champions League football via a third-place finish. 

It is widely believed that Kane, who turns 30 years old next month, is keen on remaining in England as he pursues the first piece of major club silverware of his professional career. He tallied 30 goals this past Premier League season to improve his career total for that competition to 213, meaning he needs another 48 goals to break the all-time record held by Alan Shearer. 

Kane reportedly attempted to complete a big-money move to reigning Premier League champions Manchester City in the summer of 2021 but stayed with Tottenham after Levy rejected multiple bids for the forward's services. On Monday, ESPN's Mark Ogden explained that Levy could want up to £100M for Kane knowing that both Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain could be interested. 

Paris Saint-Germain is set to part ways with Lionel Messi after this month and could sell Brazilian playmaker Neymar to Saudi club Al-Hilal this summer. 

Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth noted that breaking Shearer's Premier League record "is quite important to" Kane, so much so that the prolific goal-scorer could run his contract out with Tottenham to join a different English club as a free agent next July or put pen to paper on a new long-term deal with his current employer.
