The future of Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas remains in the air as the 35-year-old is the backup to Gianluigi Donnarumma. However, with 2022 being a FIFA World Cup year, the situation isn’t ideal for the Costa Rica international.

As a result, rumors linking Navas to a departure, primarily to Napoli, are surfacing. On Thursday, Foot Mercato reported that two options are being studied to allow the veteran goalkeeper to head to Serie A.

The first is a dry loan without a purchase option, and the second is a termination of his contract that sees Navas join the Italian club on a free transfer.

Should Navas and PSG terminate his contract, which still has two more years left, Napoli is prepared to offer the Costa Rican a three-year contract with a net annual salary of €4.5 million plus bonuses.

It’s clear that Navas doesn’t have a future in the French capital, and it would be in the interest of both parties to resolve the matter before the summer transfer window closes on Sept. 1.
