Nathan Ake’s injury during the first half of Manchester City’s crucial 4-nil win over Fulham was the only sour note of City’s emphatic win. The Dutch international was substituted during the first half of his teams emphatic win at Craven Cottage.

Ake injured himself while making a crucial intervention during the early stages of yesterday’s match. The defender attempted to play through the injury, but he had to be substituted after 22 minutes. He was replaced by Kyle Walker after it became apparent he could not continue to play through the injury.

Following the game, there was no immediate update on the condition of Nathan Ake from Pep Guardiola. The Dutch international did, however, post via his official Instagram page that he will be good following the injury.

Nathan Ake’s injury wasn’t the only injury concern for the champions yesterday. Jack Grealish missed yesterday’s win over Fulham due to illness. Speaking with Football on TNT Sports before yesterday’s game, Pep Guardiola confirmed that Grealish was fine. The City manager said: “Yes (he’s okay). He felt in the last moment not well and a little bit ill, but he’s fine.”

Attention will now shift to Pep Guardiola’s pre-game press conference before his side takes on Tottenham for an update on Nathan Ake’s condition. The defender has been in outstanding form recently and is a key part of City’s defence.
