Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly been ‘approached’ about becoming the next Canada manager.

The Norwegian has been out of working since being sacked by United in November 2021.

Solskjaer was recently linked with the vacant job to become Republic of Ireland manager, but it is understood that he turned down the position following talks with the FAI in January.

Now it sounds like the former United player and manager has been proposed the Canada job.

According to the Evening Standard, Canada have ‘contacted’ Solskjaer, with the association’s focus being on the 2026 World Cup, which the country is proudly co-hosting.

Solskjaer isn’t the only name being put forward for the job, though. He could face competition for the role from former Leeds manager Jesse Marsch.

The same report claims Jose Mourinho and Frank Lampard both turned down the chance to interview for the role.
