According to Paul Merson, Tottenham manager Antonio Conte may not start Son Heung-min against Arsenal in the North London derby this weekend at the Emirates Stadium.

The former Arsenal star stated that Son has not performed well for Tottenham this season when he has started the games. According to him, Conte may decide to leave the South Korean international forward on the bench for Saturday’s crunch Premier League game.

Merson wrote (via SportsKeeda):

“Son Heung-Min hasn’t done well when he’s started games so far this season, and Antonio Conte might use him as an impact player to turn to on the bench.”

However, given that Kulusevski is a major doubt for tomorrow’s game, the Sky Sports pundit could be completely wrong. Conte will have Kane, Son, and Richarlison as his front three, all of whom scored during the international break.

It took him a while to get going this season but he appears to be back to his best and just in time as well ahead of the crucial game against arch-rivals and league leaders Arsenal, where a win would propel them to the top of the table.
