INEOS chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe has attended a Manchester United match for the first time since taking over 25% of the club.

The British billionaire is set to take charge of the football operations at the club after his deal with the Glazers.

The 71-year old, who is a boyhood Manchester United fan, is in attendance at Old Trafford watching his team play against Tottenham in the Premier League.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe was spotted chatting to Sir Alex Ferguson during the match. Both are sat next to each other and both were seen sharing a laugh with each other.

It is refreshing to see the owner of the club attending the match and showing to the fans that he is genuinely interested in the team and it’s well-being.

If Ratcliffe needs any advice on how to start his reign at the club, he has the perfect man in Sir Alex to share his experience and knowledge of the game.

The new partial Manchester United owner was involved in an informal gathering with people from the media at Old Trafford before the Manchester United vs Tottenham match. He shared his excitement of being at Old Trafford and talked on different topics with the media.

The 71-year old said:

“It’s the first match for me since we got here.

“I am very excited to be here, but I can’t answer any questions really.. It’s a big match. We normally do well against Spurs.”

Ratcliffe mentioned Paul Scholes and Eric Cantona as his favourite Manchester United players.
