AC Milan will be up against Cagliari this evening and after the protests last time out, the Curva Sud have decided to remain silent for this clash as well. Stefano Pioli, meanwhile, has shocked everyone with his XI choices.

It was a few days before the Genoa game that Curva Sud announced that there would be no banners, no flags and no cheering during the affair. The atmosphere was certainly strange and the Curva Sud even left the stadium ten minutes before full-time.

As reported by Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Curva Sud have decided to continue their protest and as such, they will remain silent tonight as well. Cagliari will not be able to rely on the same away backing as Genoa did, but it will still be a very strange atmosphere indeed.

In the meantime, Pioli has made a ‘surprising’ decision of his own by benching Davide Calabria, Fikayo Tomori, Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao. This may have come too late, though, given that Milan are coming off six games without a win and would have needed a reaction earlier.

Regardless of the support in the stands, and the players on the pitch, Milan need all three points and it will be interesting to see their performance tonight.
