Midfielder Piotr Zielinski will get a taste of his future as Inter Milan host Napoli in Serie A tomorrow evening.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Polish international Zielinski is ready to end his eight-year stint at Napoli and join Inter in the summer.

The former Empoli and Udinese midfielder rejected a contract extension offer from the Partenopei during the fall. He will therefore join Inter on a free transfer.

The Corriere note how Zielinski turns thirty in May. That gives some sense of the significance of the player’s decision to join the Nerazzurri.

Zielinski has already capped off his time at Napoli by winning the Serie A title with the club last season.

And with what could be the last big contract of his career, the Polish international will aim to chase further titles in a Nerazzurri shirt.

Piotr Zielinski To Glimpse The Future In Inter Vs Napoli Clash

Tomorrow will be the last time that Zielinski plays in a match between Inter and Napoli in the Partenopei shirt, therefore. Presuming, that is, he plays at all.

The Pole could get a start in midfield.

On the other hand, Napoli coach Francesco Calzona could instead give the nod to Hamed Junior Traore in midfield, as he has done in a number of recent matches.

Either way, it will surely be bittersweet for Zielinski.

The 29-year-old already has plenty of experience playing at the San Siro over the years.

But now he truly knows that it will be his home next season.

Therefore, there will surely be mixed emotions in the mind of the Pole.

That is not to say that there will be any lack of loyalty to Napoli from a player who is, after all, still contracted to the reigning Italian champions.

But that will be mixed with a sense of anticipation for a future that will be at Inter.
