Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab are stepping up their pursuit of Napoli winger Matteo Politano, offering €12m plus a lucrative contract.

This is hardly new interest, as Al-Shabab had already been pushing for the Italy international over the summer and were widely expected to come back in during the January transfer window with a new proposal.

According to Sky Sport Italia, that has now happened, as his agent and Napoli were approached with a €12m fee on the table.

More intriguing is the contract, as the terms are reported to be worth €7m per season in a three-year deal.

Politano is 30 years old and his current contract with Napoli runs to June 2025.

He was purchased from Inter after an initial loan period for a total €23.5m in 2021 and is a regular in the team, contributing six goals and five assists in 24 competitive appearances so far this season.

Politano and Napoli had resisted the offers over the summer and will likely do the same again this time around.
