Manchester City ended 2023 top of the Premier League's calendar year table after earning 93 points in 41 matches over the past 12 months.

Pep Guardiola's men have now won more EPL points - and also scored more goals - than any other team in three consecutive calendar years.

City also topped the calendar year table in 2014, 2017 and 2018 but Liverpool finished 2019 and 2020 in first place.

However, Liverpool only placed third in 2023 with 81 points from 41 games.

The closest team to City in 2023 was Aston Villa, who ended the year with 85 points from 42 matches.

Arsenal achieved 81 points from 42 games, placing Mikel Arteta's side fourth - behind Liverpool on goal difference.

Meanwhile, Manchester United placed fifth with 74 points.

Chelsea played more Premier League games than any other team in 2023.

However, the Stamford Bridge club won only 12 of their 43 matches and had a goal difference of minus-eight.

Chelsea placed 13th in the 2023 table, behind the likes of Brentford, Wolves, West Ham and Brighton.
