PSG maintain their pole position to acquire Victor Osimhen next summer, but their opening offer might be lower than what Napoli demand. The marksman returned to form in the recent rounds, hitting the net thrice in the last four. He’s up to 15 goals in 29 appearances.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the French giants aren’t satisfied with the performances of Randal Kolo Muani, for whom they spent €95M last year, and Gonçalo Ramos. They have combined for 17 goals in Ligue 1 and haven’t produced in the Champions League.

PSG will be in the hunt for a new no.9, and Osimhen tops their wish list. They are plotting to propose €90M, about €40M less than his €130M release clause. It remains to be determined whether Aurelio De Laurentiis will be willing to negotiate the fee.

The Nigerian star would like to transfer to the Premier League. Liverpool, Manchester United, and Arsenal could be interested but haven’t moved decisively so far. Chelsea might, but they won’t play in the Champions League and will have to complete a host of departures before being able to buy.

Our Take on Napoli, PSG, and Osimhen

He needs no introduction but his latest performances surely help after a subpar AFCON. It’s very possible they’ll have to settle for less than the pre-determined figure. If they really have no shot at keeping him, and they have always seemed resigned about ir, they should rip the band-aid off early to focus on the acquisitions.
