Swedish referee Glenn Nyberg has been assigned to the decisive Conference League semi-final second leg between Fiorentina and Real Betis.

The match kicks off at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Thursday at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT, 21.00 CET).

The Viola have it all to do after losing the first leg 2-1 in Seville, so they need a victory in order to make it a third consecutive Conference League Final appearance.

Swedish referee for Fiorentina vs. Real Betis

UEFA have appointed Swedish referee Nyberg to the game, assisted by his fellow countrymen Mahbod Beigi, Andreas Soderkvist and fourth official Mohammed Al-Hakim.

The VAR team will instead be Dutch, as Pol van Boekel is accompanied by Clay Ruperti in the booth.

Fiorentina and Betis debuts for this referee

Nyberg is 36 years old and officiated Italian teams already this season, namely the 0-0 Champions League draw between Manchester City and Inter in September 2024, plus Roma’s 2-2 Europa League thriller away to Tottenham in November 2024.

However, this will be his first game dealing with Fiorentina.

His record with Italian teams at club and international senior level is of three wins, two draws and two defeats.

Nyberg never officiated Real Betis either, but his Spanish tally is of three victories, one draw and two losses.
