Renato Sanches is expected to be sidelined for a period of around two weeks after picking up an injury to his ankle during Roma’s training session on Thursday afternoon according to recent reports.

The Former Bayern Munich midfielder has suffered a sprain in his left ankle, which is his fourth different injury since joining the Giallorossi on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

Sanches’ injury woes have ruled him out for 12 matches already this season. He has managed just 223 minutes of action so far during the 2023-24 campaign.

According to reports from Calciomercato.com, Sanches had been preparing to return to Paris, as Roma had been exploring the possibility of terminating his loan deal ahead of schedule.

Roma find themselves under rigorous financial restrictions and currently have less than €2m in their budget to spend on transfer fees and new players’ wages this season. That is before factoring in the loan deal for Dean Huijsen from Juventus, which was reportedly agreed upon on Friday.
