Rumours have been knocking around recently about Manchester City possibly moving for Ben Chilwell in the summer and that interest has now been described as concrete interest.
Manchester City are now without a prominent left-back with Joao Cancelo being sent on loan and Sergio Gomez a player they expect to be better in the future, and they are looking at signing one in the summer.
Ben Chilwell is a player they like, and a move cannot be ruled out.
According to Simon Johnson of the Athletic, Manchester City have real interest in the signature of Ben Chilwell in the summer transfer window.
Pep Guardiola is a fan of the player and with City in desperate need of a left-back to reinforce the team, Chilwell is on the list.
Chelsea of course want to keep Chilwell and have no intentions of selling him, but a deal cannot absolutely be ruled out.
The Chelsea left-back is happy and settled in London but no Champions League football next season and the lure of playing under Pep Guardiola is something not many could turn down.
It's likely to take a fee similar to the £50million Chelsea signed him for from Leicester, but with City unlikely to take Joao Cancelo back in the summer it's a fee they may have to pay to sort the position out.
Chilwell to Manchester City is a story that's catching pace, and it's one to watch in the summer.
