Paris Saint-Germain is keen on adding a striker before the summer transfer window closes on Sept. 1. The capital club has been linked to various players, including Benfica’s Gonçalo Ramos.

After Hugo Ekitike, sporting advisor Luis Campos would like to add another striker, but the Portuguese club chief faces some competition to land the 21-year-old.

The Athletic reported on Wednesday Southampton has held talks with Benfica over a £25million for Ramos. If The Saints do sign the Benfica striker, it would be a record-breaking deal.

Ramos has been in good form this season for the Lisbon-based club, scoring five goals and registering three assists in five games. It will be interesting to see if Campos and the capital club pursue the forward.

With the departure of Arnaud Kalimuendo to Stade Rennais and the capital club attempting to offload Mauro Icardi, Ekitike remains the loan striker, so the French giants could pull the trigger on a deal if Ramos is their prime target this summer.
