Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries is reportedly reconsidering his decision to leave the club in the summer in favor of extending his collaboration with the Nerazzurri.
The 28-year-old celebrated his first Serie A title on Monday with his team beating AC Milan 2-1 in the Derby della Madonnina, albeit he had to watch the final minutes from the dressing room after earning a red card for instigating a brawl with Theo Hernandez.
The Dutchman’s current contract will expire in 2025, leaving his future at the club in great jeopardy.
The Nerazzurri have been unable to make significant progress in their contract talks with the player who reportedly rejected an offer worth 4 million euros per year as net wages plus add-ons.
Therefore, many expect the two parties to split paths in the summer.
But according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Dumfries could decide to change his stance regarding the management’s offer.
As the pink newspaper explains, the Netherlands international was counting on lucrative offers from the Premier League.
However, no concrete bids arrived from English shores, but only a few surveys from mid-range foreign clubs.
