Roma defender Diego Llorente says the players want coach Jose Mourinho to stay.

Mourinho comes off contract at the end of this season.

Llorente told Sportmediaset: "Mourinho is very important to me, he brought me here, he is the perfect coach for the team and for the fans, I would be happy if he stayed.

"Day by day I look at the quality of the coach but the fan looks at the quality of the person and he connects with the fans in a special way."

On if Roma should make January signings, Llorente also said: "We are few but we have to work with this group and not think if we are few or many, if a defender arrives good, if not patience."
