Maurizio Sarri has fired up his Lazio squad as they restart training in preparation for the second half of the season.

Serie A took a six-week pause to make space for the World Cup in Qatar and the Biancocelesti’s first game back is against Lecce on 4th January, giving them a little less than a month to prepare. The squad restarted training last week and now things are entering full swing in Formello.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Sarri gathered the Lazio squad together on Wednesday and gave them a short speech to generate some momentum as they restart training. He told the players “let’s start again even more charged up, with more confidence in our ambitions”, and underlined their desire to finish in the top four.

The Lazio squad will undergo five double sessions in one week, starting last Friday and ending on the coming Friday.

The players and staff will depart to Turkey later this month for a short training retreat and Sarri expects to have his entire squad available to him, with previously injured players like Ciro Immobile and Manuel Lazzari returning to the fold.
