Sevilla coach Diego Alonso admitted frustration after their draw with derby opponents Real Betis.

Ivan Rakitic struck on 79 minutes seven minutes after Ayoze Perez had put Betis ahead.

"We are left with the anger of not winning the game but with the hope of what may come," said Alonso.

"It was a great goal deserved for the leadership, the effort, for what he does for his teammates and for the club, well deserved and a shame that it only served for the draw.

"We'll take the break, we need it very, very much. We need the break like oxygen, especially the second week because the first week there are many players out. Start working on things that cost us due to the previous FIFA date, the need to play every three days. .. It's going to be very good for us and the first objective is to qualify for the Champions League and we have to prepare well.

"We have the capacity. And in the League to build. We haven't lost but we have to add three."

He also said: "I am not satisfied with the result because the objective is always to win. In the first half, Betis had the clearest opportunities, they had situations that could have broken the score. In the second, the team improved. Betis' goal came at our best moment, dominating and controlling much more. It comes from a set piece. Then it became more back and forth, we tied and then it was blow by blow, each trying to win the game."
