Sevilla are seriously interested in signing Luis Alberto this summer and they’ve submitted their first concrete offer to Lazio.

The 29-year-old Spanish midfielder had an interesting season under Maurizio Sarri in Rome, bouncing between incredible performances and disappointing invisibility seemingly at random. The midfielder does not have a simple relationship with the Lazio coach and the club would not be against his sale this summer.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Sevilla are serious about Luis Alberto and in the last few days they submitted an initial official offer of €16 million to Lazio, making a concrete approach.

The offer was quickly declined by the Roman club, who are looking for at least twice as much. The Biancocelesti are hoping to secure at least €30 million for the 29-year-old as this would be enough to mostly cover their squad overhaul this summer, and it would also allow them to retain star midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who has received no concrete offers so far.

Sevilla are hoping to take advantage of the Spanish midfielder’s obvious desire to return to Spain one day, something which seemingly comes up every summer transfer window, but they’ll need to majorly increase their offer if they want to pull off a deal over the next few months.
