St. Louis City SC announced the signing Tuesday of German midfielder Cedric Teuchert to a two-year contract.

Teuchert, 27, arrives from German second-division club Hannover 96 and is under contract through June 2026 with an option for the remainder of that MLS season.

He has racked up 48 goals and 21 assists in 194 matches in Germany with Hannover 96, Union Berlin, Schalke 04 and 1. FC Nurnberg.

"Cedric is a proven goal scorer that will help improve our roster," St. Louis City sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel said in a release. "His quality on the ball, whether it is dead-ball opportunities or inside the box, is a strength that will be beneficial for the team."

Teuchert will be eligible to debut for City after the MLS secondary transfer window opens on July 18. He will occupy an international roster slot.
