Tottenham Hotspur are keen on the midfielder Sebastian Szymanski at the end of the season.

According to a report from Turkish publication Aksam, Spurs are ‘closely monitoring’ his performances and they are ‘preparing to knock’ on the door of the Turkish club with an offer at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old midfielder has established himself as a key player for Fenerbahce and he has 12 goals and 14 assists in all competitions. He will add goals and creativity in the final third and he could help Spurs improve going forward.

Szymanski is an attacking midfielder who is versatile enough to slot into the wide areas as well. Currently, Tottenham have James Maddison who is capable of operating in that role. They need more depth in the position and it remains to be seen whether they can get a deal for Szymanski done.

The report from Aksam claims that the midfielder is valued at €25 million. Tottenham certainly have the financial muscle to pay the reported asking price and the 24-year-old could even prove to be a bargain at that price if he manages to adapt to the Premier League quickly.

Spurs must add more depth and quality to the side if they want to do across multiple competitions next season. They are well placed to secure Champions League qualification for the next season and they must look to add more quality to the side during the summer transfer window.
