Tottenham Hotspur are strongly pushing for a place in the UEFA Champions League in the 2024/25 season and to finish in the Premier League top 4, all while planning for the future. There has now been an interesting update on their intentions to sign Ukrainian youngster Giorgi Sudakov.

Tottenham Hotspur Strongly Considering Giorgi Sudakov Transfer

Tottenham Could Face Stiff Competition For Sudakov

CBS Sports’ journalist Ben Jacobs reports that the Lilywhites are now “seriously considering” a move to sign the 21-year-old Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder in the summer transfer window. It is also added that Spurs are in the hunt to sign a new midfielder after this season and have already been strongly linked to Chelsea captain Conor Gallagher.

Jacobs also states that Spurs have scouted the midfielder and realized that he’d be an ideal fit for Ange Postecoglou’s system.

Jacobs also claims that Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan and Juventus both have an interest in signing Sudakov, but that their budget concerns might hold them back from furthering their interest. It is also stated that Shakhtar Donetsk will be asking for at least £59.8 million to let the 21-year-old leave in the summer, even though he currently has a £128 million release clause inserted into his contract.

This comes after they were able to sell Mykhailo Mudryk to Chelsea for a whopping £88.5 million fee in 2023, giving them enough incentive to have major demands to let Sudakov go.

What Can Giorgi Sudakov Bring To Tottenham?

The 21-year-old Ukrainian midfielder has been in impressive form for Shakhtar this season, excelling in that attacking midfield position. He can play as a centre-midfielder or a no.8 too, but is best suited in a more advanced role. Sudakov has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 28 games so far, which included an impressive goal against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League group stages earlier this campaign.

The 21-year-old is a silky, creative midfielder who loves to make things happen in the final third and has also cited his current idol to be Manchester City star Phil Foden. Sudakov has made 95 appearances for the Ukrainian heavyweights in his career, scoring 17 goals and providing 15 assists and it remains to be seen if Tottenham strongly push for his signing after his season is over.
