Tottenham have received an injury boost ahead of their FA Cup clash against Manchester City which is scheduled to take place at the end of January.

Spurs beat Burnley 2-0 to advance to the next round and are now set to face Pep Guardiola’s City.

Ange’s Tottenham are one of the only two teams to have taken a point against City at Etihad this season.

Spurs have had a season ridden with injuries so far with the likes of Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, Manor Solomon, Ivan Perisic, Ben Davies, and Cristian Romero all out.

However, several players are close to returning to the team. Micky van de Ven is one of them who is expected to be back for the game against Manchester United.

Manor Solomon, Tottenham’s summer signing, is now also closing in on a return.

That’s according to Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick, who claims that the winger is ‘hoping to be back in first-team training early next week’ and that he is targeting a return to the team against Manchester City.

He has been out with an a knee injury since early October – an injury that required surgery.

His return will come as a timely boost for Spurs, considering Perisic is out for the season and Son is away for the Asian Cup games.

Spurs have already bolstered their attack by signing Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig.
