Udinese striker Lorenzo Lucca has revealed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is his idol and that he hopes to get the chance to speak with him during Saturday night’s game.

Lucca’s career path to this point has been a strange one, given he broke through at Palermo and then got a move to Pisa, before Ajax swooped in and signed him on an initial loan.

He was then loaned to Jong Ajax – their youth team – but came back to Italy. Udinese signed him on yet another loan deal, and he has seven goals in 22 appearances for them, plus two assists.

He will face off against Milan on Saturday night at the Friuli, and Lucca spoke during an interview with Sky (via Calciomercato.com) about the upcoming clash with Milan and he revealed some information regarding Zlatan.

“Ibrahimovic is my idol, I hope to meet him and I think it will be like this. I saw that he always goes to the sidelines or on the bench, I hope to meet him because it would be the first time. I will try to have a few words with him,” he said.

“The thing I like most is his character, making sure that he has become the best with so much humility and a bit of healthy competitiveness, always respecting others.”

Ibrahimovic was appointed as a Senior Advisor to RedBird Capital and AC Milan during December, but he spent the festive period in the United States because of a pre-arranged vacation.

He returned to Italy at the beginning of the year and saw the win against Empoli in person, with La Repubblica outlining how he was ‘like a sporting director’ during that match.
