Manchester United are among three Premier League clubs mulling over a potential pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah.

The defensive powerhouse is enjoying a remarkable season with the German club as they sit four points clear atop the Bundesliga and are unbeaten in all competitions across the 2023/24 campaign thus far.

According to a report from Kicker, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have notched their interest in Tah along with United, with the clubs looking to bolster their squads with the addition of the in-form Germany star.

Ten Hag eyeing a squad reshuffle

For the Reds, reinforcements will be key in 2024 as Erik ten Hag attempts to make amends for a dismal start to the term. Their debilitating injury crisis has also been a mitigating factor in their results, with United having already sustained 11 losses across the board prior to Christmas.

Tah is unlikely to leave Leverkusen next month though; while he does have a £15 million release clause included in his contract, it does not come into play until the summer. As well as that, he has been a crucial, irreplaceable cog at the heart of Xabi Alonso’s project and the manager will be pushing to keep all his players for their title, Europa League and cup charges.
