Chelsea fans paid a special tribute to their former player and coach Gianluca Vialli, who died a year ago today.

He was one of the first Italians to make the move to the Premier League, leaving Juventus for Chelsea in 1996 and remaining beyond his retirement in 1999 as a manager too.

London remained his home after getting married and it is where he died on January 6, 2023 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Vialli was remembered with a huge banner by Chelsea supporters this evening at Stamford Bridge.

He was a legend also for Juventus, Sampdoria and his hometown club Cremonese, as well as Italy both as a player and director.
