Inter Miami skipper Lionel Messi scored an incredible 92nd-minute goal, after a brilliant link-up play with fellow teammate Jordi Alba. The two ex-Barcelona stars combined to score a goal, that secured a crucial draw against Los Angeles Galaxy.

The Argentinean star’s stoppage-time equalizer helped Inter Miami avoid an away defeat. Despite their previous win against Real Salt Lake, the Herons struggled in the match against LA Galaxy. The home side had taken the lead with just 15 minutes to go through Serbian forward Dejan Joveljic. Galaxy were on the verge of winning the match, after a brilliant display by ex-Barcelona academy star Riqui Puig.

Lionel Messi had other plans though, as he and Jordi Alba combined to score a brilliant goal in the late moments of the match. The moment made fans and followers alike reminisce about the days of old Barcelona. Both the ex-Barca stars broke through the left flank, with the Spaniard then laying off a pull-back into the path of Messi, who guided the ball into the back of the net with his left foot. This was their third goal together in Inter Miami colors.

Inter Miami’s draw earned them four points from two matches, maintaining their position atop the MLS Group A standings. The team will now shift its focus to their next match against Florida rivals Orlando City this week, before beginning preparations for the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
