In recent years we’ve seen players like Marc Guehi, Conor Gallagher and even Fikayo Tomori go on Championship loans as relatively unheralded youngsters from the Chelsea academy, only to establish themselves as prospects to watch out for.

That’s what Ian Maatsen is doing right now at Coventry. He had a good spell at Charlton getting to grips with senior football at Charlton in League One last season, and how he’s stepped up to the Championship and looks very much at home.
