Willy Kambwala returned from injury as Manchester United suffered a 14th league defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.

The French defender came off the bench to replace Jonny Evans in the 75th minute of the 1-0 loss.

Kambwala had missed the last four matches through injury and his return means Erik ten Hag now has more options to select from in defence, after deploying Casemiro to the role in recent weeks.

Casemiro, who looks set to leave United in the summer, has been subject to heavy criticism as a result of poor performances.

To Kambwala’s credit, the youngster made a positive impact after coming off the bench. He made a crunching tackle to take the ball away from Arsenal forward Kai Havertz.

Footage has emerged of Kambwala spotted joining in with chants about George Best ahead of his cameo against the Gunners.

In a clip posted to social media, the 19-year-old is seen clapping and dancing along to the ‘On The P** with Georgie Best’ chant while he warmed up in front of the Stretford End.

Kambwala will be in contention to play against Newcastle on Wednesday night. Fans will hope to see him at centre-back ahead of Casemiro.
