Chelsea's encouraging run of wins was brought to a halt on Saturday by Sean Dyche and Everton, who fought back for a late draw. The Blues' form has improved of late but they will have been disappointed to surrender a lead twice against a struggling side like Everton.
Following the match, Ben Chilwell discussed his thoughts on the match.
As was likely expected, the Englishman stated the group is frustrated by having let Everton back into the match, especially as late as they did.
'We’re disappointed not to win the game and really frustrated to concede so late on. I think we dominated in the first half. We created a lot of chances but unfortunately, we just couldn’t take them.'
He also lamented how the group played in the second half, stating that they allowed Everton to play just how they wanted to.
'Then in the second half, I think we probably played into their hands a little bit. The game became a bit of a fight, it became a lot scrappier and that suited them.'
'They got their equalizer which gave them a boost but when Kai scored a great penalty, we thought that would put us where we needed to be to see the game out. So that’s really frustrating.'
Chelsea are back in action on April 1st when they take on Aston Villa.
