Numerous Manchester United players face uncertain futures heading into the first transfer window of the Sir Jim Ratcliffe era.

Despite putting pen to paper on a five-year deal last July, Marcus Rashford has again been at the centre of transfer speculation away from his boyhood club.

It comes amidst a turbulent season for the forward, as he has struggled to replicate the same prolific form that was on display across the 2022/2023 campaign, in which he netted 30 goals in all competitions for the first time in his career.

He went on to be named the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year for his outstanding efforts and was subsequently rewarded with fresh contract terms; when his pay increased to a reported £300,000 per week, he became one of the club’s highest earners on the payroll.

Still, Rashford’s fluctuating form has seen him notch eight goals and five assists in 40 appearances thus far (all competitions).

Having failed in their initial pursuit of the Carrington graduate in 2022, Paris Saint-Germain again found themselves linked with Rashford this March after it was confirmed that world-class talisman Kylian Mbappe would be leaving the Parc des Princes when his contract expires.

The Frenchman’s departure will leave a gaping hole in Luis Enrique’s attack and one that could require more than one signing to fill.

Rashford set to stay put this summer

However, ESPN claims that Rashford is currently not on PSG’s shortlist of Mbappe replacements, with his eye-watering wages proving to be a stumbling block for any interested club.

The 26-year-old is tied to Old Trafford until 2028 – do you believe he’ll see it out?
