Germany World Cup winner Sepp Maier feels Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos shouldn't be recalled by the Die Mannschaft.

Kroos has openly declared he may end his international exile for Germany's Euros campaign this summer.

But Maier told Sport1: "I wouldn't call up Kroos. I don't think it would be a good thing if he played for the national team again. He had his time. We have many other talented players in his role who can help the team.

"It's a popular topic in the media, but I wouldn't call Kroos anymore.

"But that doesn't mean that he isn't a great player and he hasn't done anything for German football."
