Oklahoma’s winning streak came to an end on Sunday, but the Sooners didn’t take a hit in the polls.

OU remained as the top-ranked team in the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll when the new rankings dropped on Tuesday.

Patty Gasso’s squad received 24 of the possible 32 votes, with Texas and LSU receiving the only other first place votes.

The Longhorns stayed put at second, and LSU, who are still unbeaten, were ranked third.

Despite losing to Lousiana, sapping Oklahoma’s NCAA record 71-game winning streak at Love’s Field on Sunday, the Sooners still boast wins over No. 5 Washington and No. 6 Duke.

Louisiana remained unranked in the poll, though the Ragin' Cajuns received votes.

Oklahoma also sits sixth in the NCAA’s RPI metric, which officially was unveiled over the weekend.

The Sooner will have the opportunity to begin a new streak on Wednesday as OU hosts Texas A&M Commerce at Love’s Field.

This weekend, Oklahoma will also open Big 12 play with a series against Iowa State.
