Hollywood superstar Zendaya draws inspiration from American WTA star Coco Gauff . The 27-year-old confessed this during a recent event and also expressed her desire to meet the reigning US Open champion. When asked who among the current tennis players she draws inspiration from, she was quick to pick Gauff.

The Challengers actress also hoped to meet the American WTA star soon as Bard Gilbert is her coach. As Zendaya has a good equation with Gilbert since he coached her for the tennis-based film Challengers, she expects he will help her meet Gauff.

Zendaya made these comments on the sidelines of an event she attended on Tuesday. The 27-year-old actress could not contain her excitement while naming Gauff as her inspiration.

I love Coco. I haven't met her yet, but I sure hope so. Brand [Gilbert] is her coach, so I am like, 'I want to meet her!'. Zendaya says in a video shared by Tennis Channel on X.

The love is mutual between Coco Gauff and Zendaya

It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time Zendaya has expressed her fondness for Gauff. The Holywood superstar also sent Coco Gauff a 50-pound flower bouquet when the 19-year-old won her maiden Grand Slam title at the 2023 US Open. Gauff called it “the coolest thing”.

Gauff had herself made the revelations after her win last year. While talking about receiving messages from celebrities, the 19-year-old revealed that the actress sent her a huge bouquet which she and her brother struggled to lift.

The messages you get from celebrities are crazy. The coolest thing that happened to me was Zendaya sent me flowers to my house. It was a huge bouquet of flowers. My brother and I, we struggled to lift it up on the table. I think it weighed at least 50 pounds. It was so heavy. Coco Gauff revealed. (H/T: Business Insider)

The WTA star also expressed her excitement for Zendaya’s upcoming fim on tennis. Gauff said that it was like her world was meshed together as she will get to see her favorite acting in a movie based on a sport she plays.

Further talking about Zendaya’s quick learning abilities, Gauff revealed that the actress picked up on tennis really quickly, as Brad Gilbert told her. Gauff on behalf of Gilbert, claimed that Zendaya picked up the sport “fairly well for someone who didn’t really play”.
