A few days after Nick Kyrgios revealed to fans about his comeback plans, he shared a video of himself playing pickleball with friends on social media. The Aussie, who has played in one tournament in the past fifteen months looks to be getting fit for a comeback.

Tennis bad boy Kyrgios took the world by surprise when he reached the Wimbledon final in 2022 but eventually lost to Novak Djokovic. At the latter end of the 2022 season, the tennis player suffered a knee injury which opened the door for several other injuries. He last featured in the 2023 Stuttgart Open, where he was hoping for a great outing but once again withdrew due to a wrist injury.

Many were expecting a comeback early this year but Australian took to commentary with ESPN. However, he didn’t rule out his comeback as he revealed that he would love to end his career in an ideal way. This has led him to take on various forms of training to get fit and one of them is pickleball. The Australian posted a video of him playing pickleball with three of his friends and in his usual lighthearted way.

In a previous video, Kyrgios held the pickleball paddle with his right hand, but in the recent post, the tennis star played with his left hand.

Kyrgios captioned the post:

Local pickleball shenanigans with @Mithchrobinson (Lefty not bad). Nick Kyrgios wrote

The timing of the video is epic as it helps fans recall the recent Pickleball Slam 2 match between Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf against John McEnroe and Maria Sharapova. Agassi and Graff won the title claiming the $1 million prize money.

Nick Kyrgios reveals frustrating spell with injuries and surgeries

Despite revealing his comeback plans to fans, Nick Kyrgios also hinted at his frustrating spell with injuries and surgeries. The Australian who underwent knee and wrist surgery last year is still yet to feature in any tournament this season.

In a podcast episode with Jay Shetty, the former Wimbledon finalist revealed that he is exhausted of the sport, and would much rather take care of his family pain-free.

Nick Kyrgios said:

I’m exhausted, I’m tired. I have had three surgeries now that … I’m only 28 years old, I always wanted to have a family and not be in pain. When I get up, I can’t walk without pain. It’s a tough gig. Nick Kyrgios said

Nevertheless, the Aussie has always stated that he come back and retire on his own will. But, the 28-year-old is yet to give any specific date for his return. Fans are hopeful that he will be back on the court as soon as possible.
