Without a doubt, Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark is a big deal. The hype around her is astronomical and basketball fans can’t wait to see her finally compete against the pros in the WNBA. They will get that chance on Friday when Clark and the Fever play the Dallas Wings for a preseason game.

Once the regular season kicks off, expect the hype train to get more serious, with some teams reportedly already considering changing venues when Clark is in town just to accommodate an expected big crowd.

Indiana Fever Star Aliyah Boston Sounds off on Rivals’ Plans

For Fever star Aliyah Boston, that sounds like a great plan and one that teams ought to do.

Via Michele Steele of ESPN:

Mentioned to Aliyah Boston that some opposing teams are considering larger venues when the Fever are in town, she looked at me, smiled and said “as they should!” Fever embracing the spotlight.

Boston and Clark used to be rivals back in college, but they’re now on the same boat with the Fever and with a common goal which is to turn things around in Indiana. The Fever finished the 2023 WNBA season third-worst overall with just a 13-27 record. But with Boston and Clark, the Fever had a formidable (and young) duo that can work together and spark an immediate franchise revival, perhaps as soon as the 2024 WNBA campaign. Like Clark, Boston was the top pick overall in 2023.

Before getting selected No. 1 in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Clark spent four years with the Iowa Hawkeyes and posted career averages of 28.4 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.1 rebounds per game.
