The phrase "generational talent" has only applied to a select few in sports. Someone like LeBron James and Kobe Bryant or Michael Phelps are so good at what they did that they are often visited by legends that came before them.

That is exactly what happened with USC Trojans legend Tina Thompson, as she showcased pictures with phenom freshman JuJu Watkins. While the pictures were enough, Thompson also heaped praise on Watkins, which is deserved.

"Once in a while, a program is blessed to have a Generational Player. A player that helps connect the community to the team, brings alumni back in the building, and attracts the attention of recruits all over the country. The player top players want to play with! She is JuJu! Her humble nature, kind spirit, and elite work ethic are just a few things that trigger these awesome things. So proud of the young lady you have grown into and the leader you continue to work to be! We are here and will continue to show up and support you, The Women of Troy, Coach, and staff! So proud of you all!"

Thompson is a generational talent all her own. Some of her accolades include being a 2x gold medal-winning Olympian, 4x WNBA Champion, and 9x WNBA All-Star.

Thompsons speaks highly of Watkins in her IG post, and it's very deserved. Watkins has been showcasing her elite and often inhuman skill on the court all season.

She has secured 12 FOTW honors, and POTW honors, and now leads USC with the most points scored in a game with 51. She continues to dominate and is on a trajectory that will likely place her among the best to ever play basketball.

Thompson also recognizes the contribution that Watkins gives to the community, which is equally as important.

The future is bright for Watkins, and we imagine getting visited by legends like Thompson will lead to her being able to obtain even more knowledge for her own game.
