Bryan Danielson enjoys working on the creative side of wrestling.

Bryan Danielson, a 24-year wrestling veteran, has racked up many impressive accolades during his time in the ring. In recent years, the former WWE Champion has begun lending his expertise to the creative department as well. As AEW prepares for the launch of their new show, Collision, Danielson will reportedly be part of their creative team. During a recent appearance at the AEW Double or Nothing Media Scrum, Danielson discussed his experience working in creative for AEW.

“I love working with Tony, and I love working in AEW, and it’s a lot of fun,” Danielson said. “Because sometimes, before I even got here, Tony and I would talk on the phone for like an hour and a half to two hours, and we would just be talking about things and wrestling and that sort of thing. And I think we have very similar ideas on wrestling. And sometimes he says things to me, and I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s a great idea.’ And we riff off each other really well. Which I mean, when we do it, too, it doesn’t really feel like work. It’s like when you love wrestling, stuff like that is fun.”

Earlier that evening, Danielson and the rest of the Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta) defeated The Elite (Adam Page, Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) in an Anarchy in the Arena match. Looking toward the future, Danielson was asked about his thoughts on a possible match with Nigel McGuinness.

“I think Nigel McGuinness probably needs to shut his mouth a little bit because I don’t think, at this point in his life, he can handle the same intensity that he could in 2006,” Danielson said. “When you watch him on commentary, I think Nigel, I think the world of him. I think the world of him as a wrestler, and I think the world of him as a commentator. But he no longer has the physical ability to match up with me.”

“He did at one point, but here I am. I’m 42 years old, and it doesn’t matter — I trained so hard to stay like this. He stopped training. And do you think you can catch back up in three months? No, you can’t. I look at his neck, and I think that I’d break it, and I’m only 185 pounds.”
