Dave Bautista is one of the most successful professional wrestlers who turned into an even bigger Hollywood movie star. The multiple-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion has played a key role in a handful of blockbuster films. That includes the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Animal was initially planned to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on a couple of occasions. During an interview with Comicbook.com, Dave Bautista shared the real reason why he was unable to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame last year.

“I don’t know (where you would see me first). I couldn’t give you an honest answer to that. And I am only going to say this because we have had conversations over the years. It would be WWE Hall of Fame. I was supposed to go in last year. And I was on a film and I just couldn’t travel. I was on a film in South Africa. And logistically we just couldn’t make it happen.”

A potential reunion with James Gunn?

Bautista also mentioned that he would love to work with James Gunn in the DC Universe. He would also be open to work with Gunn for free.

“And I haven’t talked to James (Gunn) about the DC Universe. I would love to work with James again. Whether it’s DC Universe or not. I just love James Gunn. He’s an incredible director. And we have a camaraderie that’s priceless. So to work with him again would be… I mean… I’d do it for free. But we just haven’t had the conversations. He’s just… You know, he’s on top of DC now. He’s doing his thing. I’m trying to grind along in my process and I’m always open-minded too. And I’ve expressed that to him,” Dave Bautista said.

Will Bautista be inducted into the 2024 Hall of Fame?
