During AEW Dynamite this week, a huge championship match was added to the upcoming Ring of Honor Wrestling PPV special on December 15th.

El Hijo del Vikingo will defend the AAA Mega championship against one of his long-time rivals Black Taurus in a first-time singles match in America. The match was a late addition to the final Ring of Honor Wrestling PPV of 2023.

Both men have faced off numerous times around Mexico in multi-man matches or tag team bouts on opposite teams but never in a singles match. This will mark the 2nd time the AAA Lucha Libre Mega championship will be defended on an ROH PPV (ROH Supercard of Honor 2023 against Komander), pretty sure a title change will happen this outing.

Glad to see Tony Khan finally book Black Taurus in either of his 2 wrestling promotions (All Elite Wrestling or his take on Ring of Honor ), the luchador has been spinning his wheels in IMPACT or constantly being a pin eater within AAA Lucha Libre the past few years. El Hijo del Vikingo recently reached 2 years as the Mega champion within AAA Lucha Libre but you wouldn’t know that watching the current promotion.

This singles match honestly will steal the show and more than likely be the best thing of this entire PPV outside of the Jay Briscoe tribute match (Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli vs FTR & Mark Briscoe in a trios match ).

Honestly, I wouldn’t be shocked if Taurus gets an offer from someone within AEW to join the promotion, he would be a much-needed gain for their sister promotion Ring of Honor Wrestling, the streets need those Taurus vs Samoa Joe, Taurus vs Angelico & Lee Moriarty single matches.

The official card for ROH Final Battle 2023 rounds out with Athena vs Billie Starkz for the ROH Women’s World Championship, a 6-way Survival of the Fittest match to crown the new ROH World Television champion, Keith Lee vs Shane Taylor in a singles match, Ethan Page vs Tony Nese in an “I Quit” match, the aforementioned Blackpool Combat Club vs FTR & Mark Briscoe trios match, and Vikingo vs Taurus for the AAA Mega Championship.

This PPV will only be airing live on Honor Club but if you got the plug on wrestling, you’re good to go.
